Live Productions
With a passion for live production, I strive to learn as much as I can within the studio and control room. For the past three years, I have produced Sports Beat, a sports-based news cast, which runs out of Hofstra’s very own student-run television network— HEAT (Hofstra Entertainment Access Television). As producer, I had the opportunity to determine the direction and content quality for four productions a semester with the help of my other executive board members (see my resume for specifics). Being involved in the HEAT Network allowed me to get hands-on experience in varying crew positions. I have directed and technical directed numerous productions using Ross Production Switchers and have operated standard studio equipment such as teleprompter, Hitachi SK-UHD4000 studio cameras, Soundcraft Audio Boards, and XPression Graphics.
DIRECTING
-
I directed 3 of 9 episodes of Hofstra News Now for the HEAT Network. The episode attached was our last of the semester.
-
I directed a short 5-minute sports news broadcast for my final project in my directing class.
-
I directed Hofstra Today’s last episode of their Fall 2024 semester!
My Sports Beat team and I have had the absolute pleasure of being awarded Best Non-Fiction Episode at the Lawrence Herbert School of Communications’ annual Herbie Awards- not one, but two years in a row! I am incredibly grateful for the help from my team to make our show the success that it has been the past few years. We have extended our production outside Hofstra’s walls as well which has definitely worked in our favor! As members of the HEAT (Hofstra Entertainment Access Television) Network, we also had the honor to be nominated and receive the Press Club of Long Island Award for Best College Broadcast for our second episode of the fall 2023 season. I could not be prouder to have witnessed our show grow so much, and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store!
With the amazing support from my professors at Hofstra University and my knowledge of sports production, I have been able to dive deep into the world of broadcasting and attend at some pretty cool events! I had the privilege of attending the 2nd Annual Sports Emmy Awards as well as the 67th Annual NYC Emmy Awards. It was an honor to get to work with and meet some iconic names in the industry, and I cannot wait to come back soon!
Fact Check, Please!
At the beginning of the year, I was chosen to produce my own original hour-long tv show, and here’s the result…
Fact Check, Please! was everything I wanted it to be and more. I could not have been more happy with the outcome. This show was just an idea at the beginning of January, and being able to finally see it come to life 3 months later was one of the best experiences I’ve gone through in my college career.
Fact Check, Please! was a high-energy, laugh-out-loud live special where two comedic actors faced off in the most absurd debate of the century. Tackling hilariously overblown topics, the actors brought their A-game with wild arguments and escalating antics. From outrageous claims to over-the-top theatrics, every moment was designed to keep the live audience—and viewers at home—laughing out loud while voting for their favorite debater. The live audience played a vital role, reacting in real time, voting on the winner, and even throwing in surprise questions for the debaters. In this one-night-only live comedy event, two actors took the stage for an over-the-top, fake debate, with a team of sharp-witted fact-checkers and a hapless moderator trying to keep things under control.

Shuffleboard Showdown
I worked with a team to develop an original, comprehensive production plan to cover live sports. Rather than choosing a conventional sport with established routines, we challenged ourselves with something different: shuffleboard. As producer of Shuffleboard Showdown, I planned all primary coverage, selected on-air talent, collaborated on graphics and replay planning, and created a detailed run-of-show—producing the predictably unpredictable game itself. The project was produced as a two-episode series, featuring a semi-final round followed by a championship match.
